Future versions will make use of continued technological advances.

Emerson Climate Technologies, Inc. celebrated a significant industry milestone earlier this month when the 100 millionth Copeland Scroll compressor rolled off the production line in Lebanon, MO.

"We are grateful to our global team of employees, past and present, who worked over the past 25 years to produce a technology that has been adopted by the industry at an incredible rate," says Emerson Climate Technologies Business Leader Ed Purvis. "I'm proud to have been part of the original team that brought Copeland Scroll compressors to market but I am even more excited about what the future holds. Modulating technology, compressor electronics, and growth in new markets globally are all part of where we're going with Copeland Scroll technology."

Emerson ushered in a new phase of energy efficiency for the HVACR industry 25 years ago with the launch of Copeland Scroll technology in 1987. By 1992, the company had produced one million Copeland Scroll compressors. Today, Emerson manufactures Copeland Scroll compressors in eight facilities on three continents. Copeland Scroll compressors are used by all the major OEM air conditioning and refrigeration system providers in the U.S. as well as many others globally.

Copeland Scroll technology transformed the HVAC market, first making a mark in residential air conditioning in North America, then expanding to other markets like commercial air conditioning and refrigeration around the world. Today, Copeland Scroll compressors are installed across a wide range of applications including residential air conditioning systems, residential and commercial heat pumps, geothermal heat pumps, commercial air conditioning units and chillers, supermarket and foodservice refrigeration systems, transport refrigeration, bus/rail air conditioning, data center cooling units and many military cooling applications.
