• Carrier Participates in InternationalGreen Building Conference

    Carrier exhibited its comprehensive high performance sustainable building solutions during the conference held in late March in Beijing, China.

    Carrier Corp. participated in the Sixth International Green Building Conference, held in Beijing, China, Mar. 29-31.

    Carrier has participated in the conference for each of the six years it has been presented by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, PRC.

    During the event, Carrier exhibited its comprehensive high performance sustainable building solutions, including green building consultancy and design, energy efficient air conditioning equipment, cutting-edge building automation systems, and energy efficient retrofits for existing buildings.

    “Buildings consume 40% of the world’s energy,” commented Ross Shuster, president, Carrier Asia, when attending the International Green Building Conference media briefing. “It's our mission at Carrier to address energy and environmental issues through creating more efficient and sustainable building solutions.”

    Carrier’s Environmental Market Solutions, Inc. (EMSI) has been a consultant in more than half of all the China Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design® (LEED) certified projects. EMSI has received increasing recognition through their work on renowned projects such as the Beijing Olympic Village. Carrier achieved another milestone in connection to the 2008 Beijing Games, securing nearly 70% of all HVAC contracts for the venues.     Signed Memorandum in 2009
    Further strengthening its leadership in environmental stewardship, Carrier signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2009 with the Bank of Beijing, establishing a strategic alliance to promote energy efficiency improvements and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in China’s buildings. Also in 2009, Carrier formed a joint venture with Sinostride Technology Co., Ltd., a leading extra low voltage contractor in East China, to further expand its sustainable building solutions and services portfolio.
