Bowing to his love of sailing and the call of the open sea, Edward W. Dooley has retired as vice president of Communications and Education at the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI), Arlington, VA. Ed spent 12 years with the trade association that represents manufacturers of more than 90% of North American-produced central air conditioning and commercial refrigeration equipment.

Dooley served as secretary of the ARI Board of Directors and was a founding member of the Air Conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration and Plumbing Career Education Coalition, which recruits talented individuals to careers in the HVACR industry. He was a board member of the Clifford H. "Ted" Rees Jr. Scholarship Foundation and the Partnership for Air Conditioning, Heating Refrigeration Accreditation (PAHRA).

"Ed Dooley made many lasting contributions to improve our industry," says William-G. Sutton, president of ARI. "He and his wife Connie made many friends during-the past dozen years and they will be missed."

ARI General Counsel Steve Yurek and Director of Communications Joe Stevens will be assuming Eds responsibilities. They can be reached at 703/524-8800.
