Jack Klimp, president of the Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association (GAMA), reports that GAMA delegates have approved a proposed merger between GAMA and Air-conditioning Refrigeration Institute (ARI).
"The results of the voting was an overwhelming approval for the merger: 131 voted 'Yes' and 7 voted 'No,' Klimp says.
Klimp says ARI will meet to vote its proxies within the next week. Assuming their members vote in the affirmative, the merger will become effective in January 2008.
"There is still considerable work and planning to be done as we move into the new year," Klimp says.
