HVAC contractors throughout North America converged on Atlanta, GA Sept. 13–16, to learn from the largest HVAC contractor faculty ever assembled to teach at an industry event.
Comfortech 2008 featured an exciting opening session presented in an “Action News” format, the annual welcome reception sponsored by Emerson, an awards session featuring some of the HVAC industry’s top contractors. Contracting Business Residential Contractor of the Year, Mitchell Cropp, Cropp-Metcalfe, Fairfax, VA, gave an inspirational keynote speech on the pursuit of service excellence, and a lively trade show floor provided attendees the latest in HVAC products.
Contractors had more than 40 sessions to choose from, on topics such as “Selling Service Agreements in a Green World” to “15 Traits Successful Contracting Companies Have in Common.”
Session highlights included a seminar series devoted to Sustainability in the Residential Market and a Green Ventilation Seminar Series sponsored by the Home Ventilating Institute.
HVAC contractor attendees also came to network with their peers during the well-attended Welcome Reception sponsored by Emerson, Dessert Party sponsored by LG, and the Thursday Evening Extravaganza held at the New World of Coca-Cola®, sponsored by Emerson, Nordyne, Rheem, Ruud, and York.
For the first time in HVAC Comfortech history, Comfortech volunteers partnered with a local charity for the “Comfortech Gives Back” program. Sponsored by Mitsubishi Electric HVAC Advanced Products Division, this program gave contractors, manufacturers, and Comfortech staff an opportunity to give back to those less fortunate.
The product showcase also offered an exciting learning experience. “The Comfort House” interactive training exhibit, along with the Consultant’s Corner, and manufacturers’ booths provided an opportunity to discover new technologies and the techniques for directly applying them to the HVAC contracting business.
