    Women in HVACR, a new organization dedicated to furthering the growth of women in the HVACR industry, held its first meeting on September 12, 2003 in conjunction with HVAC Comfortech. The organization will address the needs of women at all levels of the HVACR industry through networking, sharing experiences, and mentoring in addition to educational programming.

    • Membership in Women in HVACR is open to men and women at four levels:
    • Owners, executives, and managers of an HVACR contracting, distributorship, manufacturing company, or association
    • Office support staff in an HVACR company
    • Field staff in an HVACR company
    • Students.

    Annual dues are $50 for those in the first category and $25 for those in the other three categories.

    Meetings will be held annually in conjunction with HVAC Comfortech, with additional meetings, events, and services to be announced.

    Women in HVACR quickly gained support from industry organizations including International Service Leadership, Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA), Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC), and Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA).
