NORDYNE Facility Team Earns Tennessee OSHA Safety Award

    March 27, 2012
Injury rates are 10% or lower than industry SICS code

Safety is a priority for heating and cooling manufacturer NORDYNE. The company’s Dyersburg, Tennessee manufacturing plant just received the Tennessee OSHA Commissioner’s Award of Excellence for achieving 800,000 hours worked without a restricted or lost time injury.

“This award recognizes companies and employees who work together to achieve excellence in safety,” explains Dave LaGrand, president and CEO of NORDYNE. “We're extremely proud of our Dyersburg facility for creating such a safe work environment which, ultimately, allows us to deliver a high level of quality in our manufacturing process.”

In addition to achieving the 800,000 hours worked without a restricted or lost time injury, the team at the NORDYNE facility also had to meet several criteria over the past three years in order to receive the award. This includes injury rates 10% or lower than the industry SICS code, a written safety and health program, no willful safety or health violations, no discrimination violations, no uncorrected or contested serious violations, and no work-related fatalities.

NORDYNE has been operating its Dyersburg facility since 2003, where it manufactures small packaged air conditioners and heat pumps, split-system air conditioners and heat pumps, and several commercial products. heyNORDYNE.com.
