Danfoss Wins Ingersoll-Rand Supplier of the Year Award

Danfoss, Baltimore, MD, was presented the Ingersoll-Rand "Go Green" Supplier of the Year Award, for its efforts in reducing and recycling materials at the Ingersoll-Rand/Trane facility in Lexington, KY.

The Danfoss Power Electronics division recycled 40,000 pounds of boxes and 50,000 pounds of wood shipping pallets used for shipping panels from its facility in Milwaukee, WI. Danfoss also plans to eliminate the wood pallets used in its packaging.

The project was guided by Phil McIheran, continuous improvement leader at Danfoss in Milwaukee, WI, who took on the challenge to reduce the waste generated from cardboard and wood that are used in packaging Danfoss VLTŪ drive products.

"None of this would have been possible without the cooperative efforts of Kevin Thompson at Ingersoll-Rand (Trane) and our packers here in Milwaukee," McIheran says.
