HVAC Contractors Find Road to Comfortech Leads to Greater Success

Attending HVAC Comfortech — the national, residential, and light commercial HVAC Seminar & Showcase — gives even the most experienced HVAC contractors information that will help make their businesses more successful.

  • After 16 years of experience in the HVAC industry, Troy Lanz started Lanz Heating & Cooling, Inc. in 2002, servicing Champaign-Urbana,IL and the surrounding area. In 2005, a service department was added, followed by a plumbing department, duct cleaning service, a commercial HVAC division, and commercial refrigeration services.

“HVAC Comfortech truly is ‘where the professionals meet.’ I definitely recommend the show to others,” Lanz says. “It gives everyone a chance to get away from their businesses with some of their key employees, and go over some things you can't get to during the day because of interruptions. HVAC Comfortech also allows you to network.”

  • Dolan Carter, partner in Carter & Hurley, LLC, Brunswick, GA, went to HVAC Comfortech 2008 looking for information related to service management, marketing, and service calls. He found plenty of each.

“We've put some of the information to work, and we stay in touch with some of the instructors,” Carter says, and adds that Comfortech networking opportunities were in ample supply.

“We joined Service Roundtable, and that's been a huge plus for the business. At the dessert party, we spoke for about an hour with Mitchell Cropp (the ContractingBusiness.com 2008 Residential Contractor of the Year). Meeting those kinds of influential people is a great experience. Everything about HVAC Comfortech 2008 was great.”

  • The 48 employees of Turner & Schoel, Northport, AL, have more than 390 years of combined HVAC experience. But that doesn't stop President Phillip Hall from attending HVAC Comfortech.

“Each time I attend Comfortech, I look for new ideas, something that will improve what we're doing,” Hall says. “There's never been a time when I haven't found something I could bring back and apply in my business. In 2008, we went looking for more information on maintenance agreements and warranties. We came back with some really good information, and have implemented our own plans.”

HVAC Comfortech 2009 will be held Sept. 23-26 in Nashville, TN, during HVACR Week. Also taking place during HVACR Week will be all-new Commercial HVACR Symposium, and the Engineering Green Buildings Conference and Expo.
