A. O. Smith announces the launch of its new line of XP boilers and XP automatic circulating water heaters for large-volume commercial applications. Designed for versatility and energy savings, these units bring together touch-screen simplicity and high-efficiency operation, along with A. O. Smith’s reputation for reliability.
With a combination of innovative control features and modulating capabilities, XP represents the latest in high-efficiency fully condensing boilers from A. O. Smith, offering high outputs for demanding applications ranging from 920,000 to 3.4 million BTUH. XP models are designed to be used in both hydronic and potable hot water applications such as large-volume, full-service hotels and high-rise apartment complexes as well as resorts, government buildings, schools, and hospitals.
Honeywell introduces the Wireless AquaReset, an outdoor reset system designed to improve boiler efficiency, reduce contractor installation time and generate additional energy savings for homeowners.
The AquaReset maximizes energy savings by connecting a Honeywell electronic boiler control and the Honeywell AquaReset module to an outdoor sensor via RedLINK. The module makes easy installation possible since it wirelessly connects with the outdoor temperature sensor, eliminating the need for time-consuming drilling and wiring through walls. Once connected, the boiler automatically adjusts its set-point based on the outdoor temperature — providing all the necessary heat to maintain optimum comfort levels and minimizing boiler energy loses during off cycles.
The NeoTherm condensing boiler from Laars Heating Systems is a fully packaged, space-saving hydronic solution that offers 95% AFUE energy efficiency. The full line-up of residential boiler sizes are available in 80, 105, 150, 210 MBH sizes.
NeoTherm is a direct vent, sealed combustion boiler that modulates with a 5 to 1 turndown. Zero clearance to combustibles and convenient top connections (horizontal or vertical direct vent) make it a good choice for tight installations. The natural gas or LP-fired boiler features an ASME stainless steel heat exchanger, optional boiler pump, diagnostic information and low NOx emissions (less than 10ppm). Features include top-mounted water and gas lines and air intake, permitting close, multiple boiler installation.
Lochinvar announces that its advanced Crest condensing boiler is now available with inputs of up to five million BTUH. Along with the addition of the larger models, Lochinvar has expanded the line to include a dual fuel gas train. Additional product enhancements include lower firing input derate numbers in high altitude applications.
Since its introduction, the Crest condensing boiler has swept the industry with its fire-tube technology integrated with Lochinvar’s exclusive Smart Touch operating control. Offering thermal efficiencies as high as 99%, the newly extended Crest line brings exceptional energy-efficiency and design flexibility to the largest commercial applications.
Adding to Crest’s versatility, Lochinvar is now offering models with dual fuel capabilities. Currently the dual fuel gas train is offered on the 1.5 to 3.5 million BTUH models, and the new larger models will soon be offered with dual fuel. A keypad switch on the front panel of the boiler allows for a smooth and simple conversion from natural gas to propane.
The Maytag PPG2GI gas pack is rated at 20 SEER and 81% AFUE, making it 54% more efficient than a standard cooling system, sources say. The PPG2GI uses inverter technology, allowing the system to modulate in cooling mode from 40 to 118% of capacity in five steps.
The Maytag iQ Drive gas pack is available in 2, 3, 4 and 5 tons.
The Navien NPE series premium gas condensing tankless water heater features advanced technology that revolutionizes installation and helps increase profitability for contractors.
According to company sources, the NPE series greatly reduces time and labor for a typical tankless retrofit by using existing gas lines and existing flue chases.
• 2-in. PVC Venting up to 60-ft. or a System 636 (ULCS636) option for Canada
• ½-in. gas lines up to 24-ft.
• Field convertibility from natural gas to liquid propane gas.
Rinnai America Corporation introduces its Q Premier Boiler. The one-appliance heating and water-heating solution offers homeowners reliable comfort with enhanced capabilities, efficiency and versatility.
The Q Premier boiler combines the efficiency of a Rinnai heating-only boiler coupled with a 24-gallon charged indirect tank, bringing the best of both technologies into a single unit.
Rinnai’s Q Boiler, available in natural gas with propane conversion kits, can deliver 211 gallons of domestic hot water within the first hour. When compared to the indirect tank leader, it uses less energy, helping to reduce a homeowner’s utility bills month after month. The Q Premier Boiler requires approximately 70% less space than a traditional floor-standing boiler and indirect-tank system offering additional installation flexibility.
Fast Trak knobbed mats provide a faster, easier method for installing cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing in a radiant floor heating system. Used in overpour applications for basements, recreation rooms, bathrooms or any area of a home, Fast Trak products are available in two models: Fast Trak 0.5 and Fast Trak 1.3i.
• Fast Trak 0.5 is only ½-in. thick, eliminating the need to alter baseboards, moldings or doors. The product is made for 5/16-in. PEX tubing and features an adhesive backing for easy installation to a slab or subfloor.
• Fast Trak 1.3i is 1¼-in. thick. It holds 3/8-in. or ½-in. PEX tubing and includes insulation already in the mat, eliminating the added time and cost of installing insulation under the tubing.
