The new Bitzer Ecoline reciprocating compressor series is more versatile than before, and available for use with refrigerants R134a, R404A, R407A, R407C, R407F, and R507A.
Sources say with the new series, Bitzer is transferring all the advantages of the proven Ecoline series for R134a refrigerant to an even broader range of applications. The new series is 3 to 10% more efficient than its predessor, due to lower pressure drop, achieved by redesigning valve plates and cylinder heads, as well as pistons and rods. A virtually stepless capacity control enables capacity control from 10 to 100%.
The new Ecoline series has a HP range from .5 to 50HP and includes three specially adapted, high efficiency motor options.
Embraco is launching a new family of compressors with higher energy efficiency, larger cooling capacity, and reduced acoustic impact for commercial refrigeration equipment. An upgrade to the existing NEK range, the new family, dubbed NEU, reduces energy consumption by up to 16% at an expanded cooling capacity of up to 10%, both depending on the type of refrigerant used. As the external configuration remain unchanged, the new models can replace all products of the NB/NE/NEK series products.
Friedrich has introduced what sources describe as the “Next Generation” of ductless split systems that can cool any type of room. The wide range of models offers contractors a variety of choices when it comes to selecting the right system to meet their customers’ needs.
Friedrich sources say the ductless line is ideal for rooms without exterior walls or windows, and comes in single or multi-zone configurations while servicing up to four independent zones.
Each indoor unit offers the convenience of individual room control for optimizing comfort. A proprietary mounting bracket aligns to 16-in. on center wall studs, ensuring a level and secure attachment to the wall and a special standoff bracket creates more room for installation. A remote control is included and an optional wired, wall-mounted control is also available.
Four-way ceiling cassettes are ideal where wall space is limited or ceiling installation is preferred. The cassette mounts flush to the ceiling with only the grille visible.
Fujitsu General America offers two new lines of high-efficiency, floor-mounted mini-split heat pump systems, with heating that operates at ambient temperatures as low as -15F (RLFFH line), or -5F (RLFF line). Efficiency ratings are as high as 26 SEER.
The small indoor units were developed specifically for residential and light commercial retrofit applications, ideally to replace standing radiators or any space with limited upper wall space, such as a kitchen or sunroom. They are less than 24-in. high and 30-in. wide.
Systems are available in 9, 12 or 15,000 BTU single-zone models or in multi-zone configurations. Standard features include a designer wireless remote control and a host of different operating modes. All systems are Energy Star qualified and meet 2014 “most efficient” standards.
Heatcraft’s new, low temperature Slim Contour unit cooler complements the existing medium temperature unit.
The Slim Contour unit cooler has a lower profile that maximizes storage space within a walk-in cooler, and incorporates modular fan cassettes that enhance serviceability. It offers two temperature options for improved product integrity of medium and low temperature foods. Its height of 11-in. represents a 30% reduction in unit height compared to traditional unit coolers in the market today, sources report. The unit comes standard with energy efficient EC (electronically commutated) motors, and can be paired with the Heatcraft Beacon II Refrigeration System for further energy efficiency.
Another offering from Heatcraft is the G-Series ½- to 6-HP condensing unit.It features an optimized cabinet design to accommodate the innovative microchannel condenser coil, in conjunction with efficient scroll compressor technology. The outdoor condensing unit offers enhanced serviceability while delivering operational efficiency gains for the end-user. heatcraftrpd.com
Kramer says its Thermobank is the definitive cold storage warehouse refrigeration system. Thermobank’s patented hot gas defrost system provides the ultimate in ruggedness and efficiency. Thermobank delivers more refrigeration with less energy consumption, lower horsepower, installation and operating costs than conventional refrigeration packages. Thermobank systems are factory assembled, complete with matching evaporators and controls. Less equipment is needed with Thermobank because it does more refrigerating in 24 hours than conventional systems. With the fastest defrost (typically 5 to 10 minutes), Thermobank is refrigerating while other systems are still defrosting.
The Heatcraft Kysor/Warren MX1 self-contained mobile merchandiser addresses the need for flexible merchandising options for grab-and-go or seasonal products, by enhancing merchandise visibility in high-traffic areas of the store. The MX1 plug-and-play features deliver enhanced merchandising flexibility, easy installation and greater energy efficiency due the use of EC motors. Kysor/Warren sources say this merchandiser is the perfect choice for medium temperature products such as cheese, deli, meat, prepared foods, and produce.
The Lennox MS8Z ductless HVAC system offers cooling and heating all in one, and also works to provide comfort to multiple rooms with one single outdoor unit. With a multi-zone mini-split system, homeowners have the convenience of a central heating and cooling system with flexibility to control the comfort level in multiple rooms. The MS8Z functions at an efficiency rating of up to 16 SEER and keeps homeowners comfortable without generating high utility bills. Lennox also offers the MS8H mini-split heat pump and MS8C mini-split air conditioner for those looking to heat or cool only a single room. The MS8H and MS8C function at an efficiency level of up to 22 SEER.
All Lennox mini-split systems come with an easy-to-use wireless remote control that allows homeowners to change the temperature to fit their comfort needs.
The LG Art Cool Gallery Multi F systems allows consumers to personalize their indoor unit with their own artwork or photography. Sources say this unit demonstrates LG’s commitment to design, offering consumers the opportunity to make the Art Cool Gallery a part of their home décor.
The Art Cool Gallery makes operating the unit easy and convenient with a remote control operation, outstanding air filtration, and natural air flow and auto operation modes. When combined with LG’s multi-zone duct-free split heat pump system, the Art Cool Gallery can heat or cool up to eight separate zones with up to 54,000 BTU system capacity. It also incorporates an internal condensate sensor connection for secondary condensate and overflow protection.
Mitsubishi says that at 30.5 SEER, the H2i MSZ/MUZ-FH system is the most energy-efficient residential HVAC system in the U.S. market. It’s available in 9,000, 12,000 and 15,000 BTU capacities, for year-round high efficiency cooling and heating for any room, in any climate. The H2i Single-zone Heat Pump System uses a DC inverter-driven twin rotary, and has an efficiency rating of 30.5 SEER/16.1 EER.
