Bryant Heating & Cooling Systems introduces a new high-efficiency line of gas furnaces with an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) of up to 97 percent.

One of the first units available in the new line is the Evolution® 987M fully modulating gas furnace with load matching performance. A modulating gas valve is capable of adjusting from 40 to 100 percent of capacity, enabling lower speeds over longer periods of time for optimum energy efficiency. The unit is managed by the Evolution® control, which helps homeowners optimize their comfort by improving zoning capabilities while lowering operating costs. In addition, the new Evolution 987M furnace is built with variable-speed ECM (electronically commutated motor) inducer and blower motors that aid in quieter operation and customized comfort.

The new high-efficiency gas furnace line includes four models of the Evolution 987M modulating furnace, with a fifth model due in the spring of 2012. The initial release focuses on the industry’s most widely used capacities and includes the two-stage Evolution 986T and Preferred™ series units, as well as single-stage Preferred series units. Outputs range from 40,000 to 120,000 Btuhs. At just 35 inches tall and some models as narrow as 14.2 inches wide, these new furnaces are designed to fit smaller spaces.

“This new platform of high-efficiency furnaces is a result of forward-thinking solutions that result in quality products that are easier to install and are more energy efficient,” said Bill Stewart, heating products marketing manager, Bryant Heating & Cooling Systems. “Size was a key factor in our design considerations for this unit to serve markets with a need for ENERGY STAR® qualified replacement options that can fit tight spaces.”

The entire gas furnace line offers four-way multi-poise units with a rotating elbow to allow the ultimate venting flexibility for faster installation in upflow, downflow or horizontal applications.
The units are easier and faster to install and service because of the easy access condensate trap, a front-facing igniter attachment, two-door access with quarter-turn knobs, and a longer, rail-mounted pull-out blower. The new cabinet will be among the strongest in the industry and offers a sleek design and hemmed edges to give it a rounded finish, providing homeowners with a visually pleasing unit.
