The new Coleman® Comforteer™ horizontal ducted, single-packaged electric cooling unit and heat pump features MicroChannel technology and R-410A refrigerant for maximum efficiency and reduced energy usage.

The cooling unit’s lightweight, durable, all-aluminum MicroChannel condenser coil delivers maximum cooling by improving heat transfer capabilities. The technology also reduces charge volumes and increases coil durability.

Designed for outdoor installation, units in the Comforteer series offer a compact design and four-way forkable, full-perimeter base rails that make installation on the ground or roof easy. Units fit between the wheel wells of a full-size pickup truck and include side supply and return duct connections that allow easy hook-up of ducts to match low crawl spaces, without requiring transition pieces. Easy power and control wiring connections and electric utility knockouts through the side of the unit further reduce installation time and costs.

Serviceability is easy, too, thanks to a large single panel that covers the electrical controls and a blower fan assembly that slides out for ease of maintenance and troubleshooting.

Models are available in 2- to 5-ton capacities. All new 2-, 2.5- and 3-ton cooling units use three-speed permanent split capacitor fan motors, while 4- and 5-ton cooling units and Comforteer packaged heat pump models operate with a constant torque (X-13) motor on the indoor supply fan.

A top discharge condenser fan creates an upward air flow that carries the normal operating noise up and away from the living area, ensuring the unit’s quiet operation. Additionally, the rigid top panel effectively isolates any motor sound, and an isolator-mounted compressor—along with the condenser coil’s rippled fins muffle—normalize fan motor and compressor operating sounds.

High-pressure and low-safety pressure switches come standard on all Comforteer units. On heat pumps, when pressure switches sense abnormal conditions, the unit will lock-out, preventing further operation until reset or the problem is corrected.

A complete line of field-installed accessories is available, including electric resistance strip heaters, hard start kits, thermostats and more. All units in the Comforteer series also feature a heavy-duty cabinet made of powder-painted, galvanized steel that resists corrosion and rust creep.
