    June 1, 2010
Daikin and McQuay recently announced the opening of the Daikin McQuay Solutions Plaza at 10 Exchange Place in Jersey City, N.J.

Daikin and McQuay recently announced the opening of the Daikin McQuay Solutions Plaza at 10 Exchange Place in Jersey City, N.J. The 32,000 square foot facility was designed as a center for HVAC customers and specifying engineers with a state-of-the-art, interactive showroom, sales and training facility designed to far surpass any within the industry.

“The Daikin McQuay Solutions Plaza represents a significant investment toward servicing the needs of engineers and customers in the New York area market,” says Ron Hanlon, chief operating officer of McQuay Americas. “Engineers in the New York area specify some of the world’s largest and most complex HVAC systems and we want them to know we are committed to being directly involved with helping to solve design challenges and giving them access to the most current industry-leading technologies from Daikin and McQuay.”

From the 21st floor, the Daikin McQuay Solutions Plaza offers a panoramic view of lower Manhattan, the World Financial Center complex, One World Trade Center site and the Statue of Liberty. The facility is available to customers, building owners, architects, engineers and contractors and showcases the latest Daikin and McQuay equipment, systems, solutions and aftermarket services. The showroom will feature full-sized product displays, interactive information kiosks, as well as product cut-a-ways to demonstrate product features and Daikin and McQuay-specific advantages. The facility also includes training and meeting facilities.

“The Daikin McQuay Solutions Plaza in Jersey City is an international facility modeled after Daikin’s facilities in Japan, China and Belgium,” says Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Noriyuki Inoue of Daikin Industries. “The facility will allow Daikin and McQuay to showcase its innovative technology and solutions. These solutions will continue to set the standard in advancing sustainable design as part of our responsibility as a leading global manufacturer of HVAC equipment.”

The facility will be available as an education site hosting opportunities to learn the latest industry trends and earning continuing education credits. Daikin and McQuay plan to work with HVAC-related industry associations such as ASHRAE, the US Green Building Council, the Association of Energy Engineers, and the American Society for Healthcare Engineering, among others, to schedule upcoming training sessions and to host future events. Continuing education courses will be available at the facility in the third quarter of 2010.

Daikin McQuay Solutions Plaza will house up to 40 people. The staff will include consulting sales engineers, national account managers, training staff and local and regional sales staff. The consulting sales staff will focus on supporting the needs of HVAC consulting specifying engineers in the New York City area.

The Solutions Plaza was built using two McQuay Vertical Self Contained units and Daikin VRV equipment, which provides the temperature conditioning for the space. The Vertical Self Contained units are based on the new design that is also being installed in the One World Trade Center. These functioning systems will also be on display as part of the showroom so visitors can view the equipment, see how it performs and hear the systems operate. The Daikin McQuay space is LEED Commercial Interiors certified.
