Roger Fradin, president and CEO of Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions, recently hosted U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner at its Golden Valley, Minn., headquarters .

Honeywell’s Technology Experience was on display to illustrate the extensive range of technologies offered across the Honeywell businesses, including an array of residential, commercial, and demand response thermostats, air traffic management technologies, Enovate® blowing agent for closed-cell spray foam, green jet fuel, turbochargers, and services such as Energy Service Performance Contracts. Geithner also learned about Automation and Control Solutions’ wireless solutions, smart grid capabilities, and new security technologies.

“We were honored to have Secretary Geithner visit Honeywell to learn about our energy efficiency portfolio and how our technologies and solutions are being used to reduce energy consumption and emissions, and can create green jobs,” said Fradin. “It was a terrific opportunity to showcase Honeywell.”

Nearly 60% of Automation and Control Solutions’ product portfolio, and 50% of Honeywell’s product portfolio company-wide, are linked to energy efficiency and renewable energy. By simply using the Honeywell technologies available in the marketplace today, the U.S. could reduce energy consumption by 15 to 20% and play a key role in curbing and reducing global greenhouse gas emissions.

The Secretary’s visit follows a tradition of the President sending out Cabinet Members to tour America after a State of the Union address. Secretary Geithner toured the Golden Valley site and spoke to a roundtable of distinguished visitors, including: Congressman Ellison (D-MN), Congresswoman McCollum (D-MN), Minneapolis Mayor Rybak and St. Paul Mayor Coleman about the need to continue to grow our economy by creating energy efficient, green jobs.
