SAIT Polytechnic, a refrigeration trades training program, will use digital refrigeration system analyzers created by the Canadian HVACR diagnostic tool manufacturer Digi-Cool in their classrooms this semester.

The new AK-900s, Digi-Cool's latest digital refrigeration system analyzers, were donated by Digi-Cool. The digital analyzers will be used to train future technicians in SAIT Polytechnic's “hands-on” classroom — a massive campus that includes a commercial grocery store refrigeration system, walk-in coolers and freezers and a simulated ice rink system.

“HVACR systems are getting more complex,” says Richard Thompson, a refrigeration apprenticeship instructor at SAIT Polytechnic, “and require more effective diagnostic tools. I firmly believe that collaborations between an educational institution like SAIT Polytechnic and a manufacturer like Digi-Cool help to create better technicians.”

Digi-Cool was granted two North American patents for its HVACR innovations and its new AK-900 digital refrigeration system analyzer which will appear in the latest edition of the Fundamentals of HVACR, a textbook for HVACR techs published by Pearson Education.
