    Control Products

Control Products introduces the FreezeAlarm with Cell-Comm technology. FreezeAlarms provide remote temperature monitoring of homes, vacation properties and commercial buildings. These devices protect against damage caused by HVACR equipment failure and power outages. Cell-Comm technology incorporates mobile phone technology that eliminates the need for a dedicated telephone landline. Remote monitoring will now be available for buildings where a landline does not exist.

The FreezeAlarm (model FA-IM) is easy to install, works on any major wireless network and can be used by contractors to expand their monitoring services. This device automatically calls up to three phone numbers to alert of a temperature alarm condition or power failure. The end user can also call into the device to check on the status of their monitored location. | www.emersonclimate.com

    KZ Valve

KZValve's newest EH5 Series of actuators has a heavy-duty design that allows use in numerous applications and extreme conditions. The EH5 is constructed of solid-state components. The UV modified, glass-filled housing is impact resistant and meets the OP68 rating of the ISO 60529 and NEMA 6P rating to assure waterproof operation. Ignition safety is confirmed by the NEMA 7D rating. The EH5 also meets the USCG Electrical Systems Standard. | www.kzvalve.com

    Sporlan

Parker Hannifin Corp. announces a new line of plug-in refrigeration controllers - the Sporlan PSK Line. The PSK line is a broad family of controllers intended to provide simple and reliable control to a wide variety of low temperature (< 35F) and medium temperature (35-45F) applications.

PSK201, PSK203 and PSK204 are ideal for applications with one or two temperature sensor inputs such as a medium temperature stand-alone dairy/beverage cooler. These are one, three and four relay (respectively) controllers. PSK203 and PSK204 have additional relays to control active defrost (either electric or hot gas bypass) and fans in low temperature applications.

Other models in the line (PSK221, PSK231, PSK233 and PSK214) serve more complex applications, like a reach-in freezer with electric defrost, door switches and network communication to a central control/monitoring system. These are also one, three and four relay (respectively) controllers with two or three temperature sensor inputs, but they also include a variety of other enhanced features such as multipurpose inputs that can be user-configured (for door switches, extra temperature sensors, etc.), RS485 Modbus communication, programming key support, HACCP data logging and alarms. Also, the multiple relay versions are intended for low temperature applications and can control active defrost and fans. | www.sporlan.com

    Fieldpiece Instruments

Fieldpiece Instruments introduces the AAT3 hot-wire anemometer and psychrometer in one accessory head. The AAT3 gets into ducts easily for measurement of air velocity, temperatures and %RH. It also calculates wet bulb and dew point. When connected to the HG3, the AAT3 provides data for automatic calculations of target superheat, target evaporator exit temperature and total CFM tests.

Utilizing the 38-in. telescoping wand, technicians can take measurements at hard to reach registers or in the duct for the most accurate measurements.

The AAT3 can be connected directly to any Fieldpiece stick meter, data logger, electronic handle or HVAC guide system analyzer, or it can be connected wirelessly to any Fieldpiece wireless-enabled meter via the Fieldpiece ET2W wireless transmitter. For use with other DMMs, use the Fieldpiece ADLS2 test leads or AHDL1 handle adapter. The AAT3 is available immediately for $199 suggested trade price and can be purchased from a Fieldpiece distributor. The AAT3 includes the tool, battery, silicone test leads and telescoping probe. | www.fieldpiece.com

    Rheem

Rheem introduces an improved RXIH-AS series whole-house steam humidifier, which is designed to maintain an adequate moisture level to the air in a home. Offered in six, nine and 12 gallon capacities, the Rheem RXIH-AS series steam humidifier works by warming water in a tank, which is then turned into steam and allowed to flow throughout a home.

The Rheem whole-house steam humidifier features a logical LED interface with six lights that show status and indicate when service needs to be performed. By monitoring the humidifying processes, the steam humidifier uses the LED lights to clearly display the status of operation and any error codes. The LED interface also indicates when cleaning is required and detects needed service updates. Should a service issue arise, this feature arms the HVAC professional with dependable information for faster, more accurate service. | www.rheem.com

    Trane

Trane CleanEffects utilizes patented, breakthrough air cleaning technology to remove up to 99.98 percent of airborne allergens from the air that passes through the filter. According to Trane sources, it catches particles as small as .1 micron, making it 8 times more effective than even the best HEPA room filters and up to 100 times more effective than a standard 1-in. filter.

    The CleanEffects filter features:

    • Low operating costs, with no replacement filters to buy.
    • Cleaning indicators easily visible on the outside of the unit.
    • Easy to clean filters. Just vacuum or rinse once every 3 to 9 months (depending on usage).
    • Quiet operation. | www.trane.com
