With the ability to reduce bacteria, viruses and mold — plus chemical and biological odors — Amana® brand UVX Ultraviolet Object Purifiers are used in any location where clean air is desired.

A patent-pending, aluminum parabolic reflector directs and intensifies all UV energy to the desired area, ensuring a coil free of microbial growth. Units use a high-intensity, 19mm quartz, germicidal UVC lamp (UVX-PR Series). The Amana UVX-PR also features the ultra-bright LED “Smart Lamp System” visual display and a 3-year limited warranty.

American Standard

American Standard's AccuClean removes more than 99% of the common flu, or influenza A virus, from the home's filtered air, according to research by the Harvard School of Public Health in collaboration with scientists at Environmental Health & Engineering, Inc. (EH&E).

According to company sources, American Standard AccuClean has the highest clean air delivery rate available to consumers. Clean air delivery rate is recognized by the Federal Trade Commission and EPA as a fair and objective measure of various air cleaner technologies.

Carrier

Carrier's line of ventilators include HRV (heat recovery ventilator) and ERV (energy recovery ventilator) models. Carrier ventilators exhaust stale air from the building and replace it with fresh air from outside, and transfer heat between the air streams with up to 84% efficiency.

Unlike rotary wheel heat exchangers which mix air streams, Carrier ventilators use cross-flow or counterblow heat exchange cores to ensure there is no mixing of the incoming and exhaust air. HRVs are normally selected for cooler climates. ERVs have the ability to transfer moisture through the core material and are usually applied in climates that experience high temperatures and humidity levels.

Clarcor

The new DP-Green air filter by Clarcor is offered in 2-in. and 4-in. thicknesses is LEED/Green Building compliant with a MERV 13 performance. This high-efficiency filter is composed of 100% synthetic media and is effective in standalone applications, or as a pre-filter in place of a disposable, permanent, or media pad-frame filter.

Comfort-Aire

Comfort-Aire introduces its AHGV series of variable speed hydronic air handlers for R-410A. According to company sources, the variable speed blower motor operates 90% more efficiently than PSC motors. It further improves efficiency by adjusting the CFM to match the static pressure of the system, helping to overcome poor duct design and long duct runs. This improved air distribution throughout the static pressure range results in a constant low speed fan operation.

The AHGV series has features including freeze protection in both heating and cooling, slide-out blower assembly, line voltage terminal block and low voltage terminal strip, and ¾-in. sweat water connections.

Field Controls

Field Controls introduces the Media Air Cleaner product line. Initially available in two sizes, both use MERV 11 rated filter media to trap particles as small as 1.0 micron in size. Replacement filters are designed to fit standard Media Air Cleaner cabinets. The 1400 cfm size is 16-in. × 25-in. × 5-in. The 2000 cfm model is 20-in. × 25-in. × 5-in.

Field Controls media is electrostatically supercharged for better efficiency and longer life. It's also moisture resistant, and will not support the growth of bacteria or microbes. The MERV 11 pleated media has enough capacity to work up to six months before replacement while maintaining efficiency and arrestance ratings in compliance with ASHRAE Standard 52.2.
