York® LX Series Features MicroChannel Technology
The new York
The York LX Series units feature a MicroChannel coil with enhanced heat transfer characteristics, enabling them to achieve the desired performance levels with less coil surface area than competitive condensers and up to 50% less refrigerant. The units are available with R-410A refrigerant as well as R-22.
York's 14.5 SEER LX Series air conditioners use a compressor blanket and swept-wing fan blade for quieter operation. Up to 16.50 SEER and 14.0 EER can be achieved when the air conditioner is matched with a variable-speed air handler or gas furnace.

AspenAir Introduces Slimline Furnace Mount EAC
AspenAir announces the arrival of its newly-designed furnace mount EAC systems. These systems are designed for installation in either AspenAir's thin proprietary housing, or when used with AspenAir's SlimLine RetroKit, will retrofit most EAC and media housings.
The SlimLine design of the furnace mount systems are ideal for installations that call for a furnace mount application, but where space is restricted. At a mere 3.75-in. nominal width, AspenAir's furnace mount system will retrofit most installed EAC or furnace mount housings. In new install situations, especially those where space is limited, when with used AspenAir's SlimLine housing.
All AspenAir's systems have been laboratory proven to be 99% efficient at capturing harmful airborne particles down to 0.1 microns. The SlimLine model comes in a nominal width of 3.75-in. and when installed in its proprietary SlimLine housing, is only 4.75-in. wide.

Luxaire Introduces UVC Germicidal Light
The new Acclimate
The Acclimate UVC germicidal light is installed inside an HVAC system and irradiates the areas inhabited by the offending organisms, making it impossible for them to survive.
To eliminate contaminants in HVAC systems, a UVC light must be able to provide maximum dosage of UVC energy at 45 to 55 degrees Fahrenheit in a rapidly moving airstream. Although many commercial lamps are designed for optimal performance at room temperature, sources say the Luxaire Acclimate lamp uses a blend of inert gases in the bulb and a specialized power supply that maintains the optimal plasma temperature inside the bulb, even in a low temperature, moving airstream.

COMFORTECH PRODUCT SHOWCASE AWARD
At HVAC Comfortech 2008, 15 products were recognized as Product Showcase Award winners. Judges took into consideration the ease with which HVAC contractors can apply the technology, and the technical value of the product or service to the HVAC industry. We'll feature these products each month in upcoming issues of ContractingBusiness.com. This month, we're featuring Service Automation Inc.'s SAWIN Mobile, the winner in the Field Communication category. For additional information on any of the products listed here, circle the appropriate number(s) on the reader service card at the back of this issue or visit www.contractingbusiness.com/freeinfo.html.
SAWIN Mobile Provides Paperless Solution
SAWIN Mobile is an integrated software program that helps business owners maintain almost every part of their business such as service, inventory, accounting, and payroll. The software can be deployed with a laptop, tablet PC, PDA, or a hybrid of these devices, giving the contractor the flexibility to outfit employees with the most productive device based on their specific field requirements.
SAWIN Mobile gives the consumer the ability to see the recommended repairs with subsequent pricing on screen for review and authorization by signature capture. Once authorized, the technician can complete the work order, swipe a credit card from the customer for instant authorization, and either email the invoice directly from the device or print a copy on the spot.
SAWIN is paperless and seamless and allows the technician to track time and materials cost in relation to the flat rate price. Technicians can also review and update the equipment logs on the device, review service history, PM contracts, and make recommendations for the salesmen. According to company sources, no paperwork is brought back to the office because the completed invoice is transmitted back in real-time awaiting final approval. See the video of the award presentation at ContractingBusiness.com.
