THIS MONTH IN CB HISTORY

1970: The Associated Air Balance Council (AABC) held its sixth annual meeting. Officers forecast increases in business, thanks to U.S. government adoption of AABC standards in government facilities. (You can learn about today's AABC at aabc.com.)

The Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Wholesalers held its annual meeting in Miami Beach, FL. Members were looking forward to “the sensational seventies,” based on figures that showed the U.S. Gross National Product (GNP) growing by 43% by 1975, and 110% by 1980.

Sheet Metal Air Conditioning Contractors National Association (SMACNA) was also looking forward to the ‘70s, with new opportunities in air pollution control, as well as HVAC system testing, adjusting, and balancing.
