AAF International Celebrates 90 Years

Article Tools

AAF International, manufacturer of AmericanAirFilter® and AAF® products, achieved a major milestone this year as the company commemorates the ninetieth year of improving air quality.

AAF has a rich history as one of the oldest air filter manufacturing companies in the world. In 1921, William Reed founded the company in Louisville, KY, and began manufacturing the Reed Air Filter. In 1929, Reed combined with six other air filter companies to create American Air Filter Company, Inc. The company experienced steady growth through the years by developing innovative products and acquiring businesses, allowing for expansion into international markets and new industries along the way. In 2006, AAF became part of the Daikin group of companies.

"Reaching this milestone in our company's history is a true testament to our employees, who have worked together to make this company what it is today. We are very proud of the achievements that have taken place over the last 90 years," says Kevin Lynch, COO. "This is an opportunity to acknowledge the accomplishments of the past, while more importantly focusing on continually improving our operations, our products, and our services to ensure a long and bright future for AAF. As a member of Daikin Industries, we are poised for growth and will continue to provide the industry with innovative solutions, energy saving products, and the technical expertise that our customers have come to expect from us."

Throughout the year the company will recognize this great accomplishment through various celebrations and activities. The celebration culminated with an Anniversary gala held in May, 2011. Customers, vendors, Daikin management, and local politicians participated in the event which featured the unveiling of the company timeline, innovative product highlights, dinner, and entertainment.
