Predicts Industry Turnaround

Article Tools

Reuters News Service reported on March 12 that Carrier President Geraud Darnis believes there will be an increase in U.S. demand for residential heating and cooling systems in 2010. "I believe we've reached the bottom on the residential market," Darnis said. "We believe the market will be up this year, anywhere between 5 and 10%."

Based on demand in the first three months of 2010, Darnis said he thinks growth will be closer to 10%.

Darnis made his comments to investors during a United Technologies Corp. meeting in New York City.
