Danfoss Turbocor Restructures Retrofit Segment

Main distribution based in Quebec, Sparta, WI

Danfoss Turbocor Compressors (DTC), as part of a strategic assessment for market growth and expansion over the next three years, has implemented a restructuring of its retrofit market segment.

This restructuring introduces a new approach to better serve customers by establishing pre-qualified Retrofit Solution Providers (RSPs), who will become the primary channels for distribution and application of Danfoss Turbocor Compressors.  The RSP includes Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) who will market their own retrofit applications as well as OEMs who will work with independent retrofit contractors qualified by DTC.

There are currently two pre-qualified RSPs through which DTC will exclusively sell products to expand the retrofit market within North America:

Smardt Retrofit Solutions, Inc.
1800 Trans Canada Highway
Dorval Quebec, H9P 1H7
514-426-8989

MagLev™ Retrofit Solutions
A Multistack Business Group
1065 Maple Avenue
Sparta, WI 54656
608-366-2400

These RSPs will be responsible for administering support and service to the existing base of retrofit contractors as well as enlisting and recruiting new retrofit contractors to serve the marketplace.

Each contractor will have the opportunity to work through one of the RSPs to market and sell retrofit solutions using Danfoss Turbocor Compressors trademarks and product literature.  DTC will continue to promote retrofit applications on its Web site and marketing information directed through one of the RSPs.

Uwe Seemann, chief sales and marketing officer for Danfoss Turbocor Compressors, says the new approach will provide continued opportunity for growth and expansion of the retrofit market.

"These RSPs can provide a complete systems solution and technical support -- from application right through to after sales and service,” Seemann says.

Danfoss Turbocor's stated mission is to redefine lifetime operating costs for commercial HVACR applications.
