Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson, has been recognized by the Ohio School Board Association (OSBA) for its efforts to further Environmental Controls Technologies/Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) education. Additionally, Emerson Climate Technologies was named to the OSBA Business Honor Roll for its contribution to Ohio education and exemplary service to the community.

"The people at Emerson Climate Technologies really helped us drive this program forward, and we're extremely pleased with response we've received from students," says Scott Nail, instructor at Upper Valley Career Center, based in Piqua, OH. "Since launching 'Cool School, Hot Career,' we've seen enrollment jump, and we now have a waiting list to get into the HVACR program."

During the past two years, Emerson Climate Technologies has worked closely with Upper Valley Career Center (UVCC) on the "Cool School Hot Career" campaign. The campaign helped ignite interest in the Environmental Controls Technologies program, bringing new students into the unique discipline. To help spark interest with prospective students, Emerson helped UVCC recruit students by sending letters and attending open houses to encourage students to check out the program. The company also provided assistance with key marketing activities such as website design, social media execution and development of promotional collateral, like a video to promote HVAC at a local movie theater.

Additionally, Emerson made a monetary donation to the program, supported an HVACR Advisory Council, and started an apprentice program.
