Genteq™ Presents First Universal Commercial Retrofit Motor

For use in light commercial heating and cooling equipment

Genteq™, a division of Regal Beloit Corporation, is launching Evergreen CM, the world’s first universal electrically commutated motor (ECM) for aftermarket light commercial heating and cooling applications.

Genteq sources report the motor uses up to 50% fewer watts than a standard indoor Permanent Split Capacitor (PSC) blower motor, Evergreen CM instantly upgrades the efficiency of most light commercial heating and cooling equipment.

HVAC systems can consume up to 40% of the total energy usage in a commercial building. The Evergreen CM replacement motor upgrades the heart of an HVAC system while using up to 50% fewer watts than a standard indoor blower motor.

“Reducing HVAC energy consumption and costs are critical to building owners. The Evergreen CM will make a dramatic impact,” said Preston Davis-Robinson, Genteq aftermarket leader. “Previously, the only option for a more energy efficient HVAC system was to purchase a completely new ECM system. Evergreen CM gives businesses the ability to simply upgrade their inefficient PSC motor with a high-efficiency ECM model.”

The ultra-high-efficiency ECM has for many become the preferred motor for use in energy-saving HVAC systems. Evergreen CM is made with the same field-proven, high-efficiency ECM technology that has been used for more than 20 years in new HVAC equipment. It features flexible control methods to help the installer balance airflow in HVAC systems such as VAV, Variable Air Volume, Series Boxes or Package Heat Pumps.

Evergreen CM

The Evergreen CM motor is available for 277V systems, counter clockwise or clockwise rotation, and outputs of 1/3, 1/2, and 3/4. Evergreen is the world’s first high-efficiency motor for replacing an existing blower motor in light commercial heating and cooling equipment. Evergreen is based on over 20 years of field-proven ECM technology. In addition, Genteq has two generations of Evergreen products in the residential HVAC market.
