The Plumbing & Mechanical Association of Georgia, the Georgia chapter of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors—National Association— has launched a well-rounded web-based program that will ultimately expand the education and professionalism of Georgia’s licensed plumbing, heating, and cooling contractors.

The course was launched Sept. 1. It covers technical and business management programs that will help contractors effectively run their businesses, as well as know the latest code updates, installation/repair tips and sales techniques. A mix of streaming videos and graphic-oriented Power Point presentations will be used.

The initial one-hour modules include commercial drawings, plumbing code updates, understanding overhead and making the sales pitch for energy- and water-efficient products. Some of the future courses will include math for plumbers, safety and OSHA, grey water systems and recession-proofing your business.

All courses are approved by the State Licensing Board for credit toward state of Georgia plumbing license renewal requirements. License holders are required to obtain four hours of continuing education every year.

The online content was developed by the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors—National Association, the PHCC Educational Foundation and other leading industry experts. It is available to licensed plumbers in the state of Georgia. A special promotional price of $55.00 is offered until December 31st. PMA of Georgia is a trade association comprised of plumbing and mechanical firms and industry professionals who are working to meet the needs of Georgia's plumbing ad mechanical industry. It is affiliated with Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association.   phccweb.org
