Eleven training courses offered by the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) now contribute to the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) professional credentialing program.
The free online courses help construction professionals increase their knowledge of propane’s contributions toward eco-friendly home building. “The USGBC is a leader in the sustainable building industry, and we are honored that PERC’s courses can help construction professionals earn credit in the organization’s professional credentialing program,” according to Tracy Burleson, director of residential programs at PERC.
“The use of propane can lower a building’s overall carbon footprint," Burleson says.
The USGBC is the primary source for LEED standards, an international third-party certification system designed to improve buildings’ carbon footprints. The free USGBC-approved courses contribute one credit hour toward the LEED professional credential, which requires 15 credits every two years.
