American Standard Puts Job-Site Productivity at Professionals’ Fingertips

Article Tools

A new mobile website from American Standard Brands caters to busy trade professionals by providing fingertip access to spec sheets, installation guides, dealer locators, product videos and individual SKU-level ordering information – all on their mobile phones. The mobile website works with the Apple iPhone and other smartphones.

With nothing to download and no subscription to activate, the free mobile pro website, called the ProSite, extends the functionality of the desktop version of AmericanStandardPro.com, launched in 2010 to serve as a one-stop-shop for plumbers, specifiers and other trade professionals.

Both ProSite platforms (desktop and mobile versions) offer easy-to-use navigation to quickly drill down to specific products through common search criteria such as basin shape, number of handles, faucet drillings, flow-rate, material or ADA-compliant products.

“Many pros know exactly what products they want for a project and the ProSite’s advanced search functions streamline information access,” said Steve Ferry, chief marketing officer of American Standard Brands.

A helpful feature, available on both the desktop and mobile platforms, is the ability to maintain several ongoing “project” folders to help organize all of the various products, color selections and job specifications associated with a job.

“Once a product is selected, all of its specifications and information – from product images and color swatches to installation guides and rough-in diagrams – are saved to a project folder for printing or e-mail,” explained Ferry. “Imagine the convenience of specifying all of the products needed for a bathroom remodel and sending a comprehensive project file to a wholesaler to bid or to a homeowner for approval.”

The ProSite saves all related project files as both a printable PDF format and a compressed file, so that individual documents are immediately accessible for easy reference. The project file can be stored online, saved to a personal computer, or sent to a colleague via e-mail. A line-item summary is also generated for each project file, for an at-a-glance project snapshot.
