Tom McCart Names Alan Simpson as Business Successor

Article Tools

Highly respected and popular HVAC training expert Tom McCart, has named fellow industry consultant Alan Simpson as his business successor and master licensee of his No Secrets Training Systems. According to McCart, this decision culminates more than 15 months of searching for a “rare individual with strong industry knowledge, professional training abilities, and above all, a caring passion to help independent service trade contractors and their employees succeed profitably.”

Simpson has taken over all of McCart’s out-of-office coaching, including distributor-dealer seminars, company-level group training and personalized, on-site consulting.

McCart is a long-time member of Contracting Business magazine’s Editorial Advisory Board, and is the first recipient of CB’s Thomas R. “Doc” Rusk Award, given in recognition and appreciation of contributions and dedication to the advancement of the HVAC industry.

In June 2002, McCart was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), better known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. The disease, which progressively weakens nerves throughout the body, has forced Tom to forego traveling and focus on training contractors from his Ft. Myers, FL location.

Simpson entered the HVAC industry in 1987, and has served on the staffs of Service America (Ron Smith), Contractors Success Group, Aire Serv, Mr. Rooter and Excellence Alliance. A business and commercial real estate broker, Simpson has extensive experience in business analysis, valuation, market pricing, negotiations, and sales. He is also a Consult and Coach Partner with Service Roundtable.

McCart and Simpson are planning to pass the torch during a limited-seating, three-day business training workshop, “The Business of the HVAC Business,” tentatively scheduled for the first week of February in Ft Myers, FL. For details about the workshop, call Simpson at 520/577-8109, or e-mail alan@nosecrets.com. For more information
