David Grassl, from Milwaukee, WI, Daniel Izer, from Greencastle, PA, have each been awarded $2,000 scholarships from the Clifford H. “Ted” Rees, Jr. Scholarship Foundation. The foundation encourages students to seek careers in the HVACR industry.

Grassl, a graduate of Dodgeville High School in Dodgeville, WI, is attending the Milwaukee School of Engineering, in Milwaukee, where he’s working towards a degree in architectural engineering. Grassl also serves as vice president of the Milwaukee School of Engineering’s student chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

Izer graduated from Greencastle-Antrim High School in Greencastle, PA, and is enrolled in the Pennsylvania College of Technology, in Williamsport, PA, where he serves as president of the first ever student chapter of Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA).

Rees Scholarships are paid directly to the school or institution and can be used for tuition, books and supplies. The scholarship is named for Clifford H. “Ted” Rees, Jr., who served as president of the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) from 1994 through 2001.
