CertainTeed Corporation, through its parent company Saint-Gobain, is sharing top honors for its outstanding contributions to protecting the environment through energy efficiency. Following a two-year run as an ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year, the company received the 2011 ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence Award, the highest level of recognition from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

CertainTeed is the first and only fiberglass insulation manufacturer whose contributions have been recognized through the program.

“At CertainTeed, we foster a holistic culture of environmental responsibility in every aspect of our operations,” said Peter Dachowski, president and CEO of CertainTeed. “Maximizing energy efficiency at our facilities is a top priority and we commend our employees’ collective effort to help protect and preserve the environment.”

The Sustained Excellence Award recognizes consistent efforts to use energy efficiently in facility operations and to integrate superior energy management into overall organizational strategy. Award winners are selected from organizations that participate in the ENERGY STAR program. The accomplishments of Saint-Gobain, CertainTeed, and its U.S. companies were acknowledged at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on April 12, 2011.
