For the third consecutive year, EMCOR Services New England Mechanical (NEMSI) was named one of the Best Places to Work in Connecticut.  The annual program to recognize the state’s top employers is sponsored by the Hartford Business Journal and Best Companies Group.
EMCOR Services New England Mechanical was a winner of a ContractingBusiness.com Design/Build award in 2008. In 1998, the firm won a ContractingBusiness.com Commercial Contractor of the Year award.
One of New England’s leading mechanical services contractors, EMCOR Services New England Mechanical is a subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc.
The Hartford Business journal gave EMCOR NEMSI high marks for communications.
“Open communications between EMCOR Services New England Mechanical management and its workers have led to mutual respect and loyalty in an industry where tumultuous relationships and feast or famine business cycles are common.”
“It’s all about the people who work here – how they’re treated and how they respond.  We think our job is to take care of our employees; their job is to take care of our customers," says Dana Finnegan, president EMCOR Services New England Mechanical.
“It really comes back to the people here, who really have to make some sacrifices on this job – weekend calls, on-call 24-7; it’s not easy,” Finnegan adds.  “That’s why I think this award is special.  It’s additional recognition for what our employees have done for our customers and reaffirms that we’re doing the right things for our employees.”
The Best Places to Work in Connecticut survey and award program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in the state, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. The program recognizes 25 companies grouped into two categories: small/medium-sized companies (15-199 employees) and large-sized companies (more than 200 employees).  With 450 employees, NEMSI was recognized in the large-sized company category.
There is a two-part process used to determine the companies awarded the recognition of Best Places to Work in Connecticut. The first part consists of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consists of an employee survey to measure the employee experience.
The combined scores determine the top companies and the final ranking.
Founded in 1966, EMCOR Services New England Mechanical is one of the region’s leading mechanical services providers serving clients in such markets as biotechnology research, pharmaceutical, commercial, industrial, institutional, health care, and higher education.
