The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) Compensation Committee has promoted AHRI President Stephen R. Yurek to the position of chief executive officer. His title will be president and CEO.

"We're pleased to promote Steve to CEO," says Ray Hoglund, AHRI Chairman. "His leadership skills, his knowledge of the industry, and his forward-thinking approach to AHRI as a global association have inspired confidence in the membership, and make his ascension to CEO a natural progression."

Yurek joined ARI in 2002 as vice president of policy and public affairs and general counsel. He was promoted in 2006 to the newly created position of chief operating officer, and was promoted to president in 2007. Prior to joining AHRI, he served as vice president of business development and public affairs for CompassLearning, Inc. and, prior to that, as general counsel and chief operating officer at the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
