Zone Valve Uses Microcircuit Logic to Control Fluid Flow
The new Zone Sentry zone valve by Taco enhances the overall performance of any zone valve system, sources say.
The Zone Sentry's patented technology uses a microcircuit-based logic to control a gear-driven electronically-actuated ball valve to control fluid flow. The advanced design uses 93% less energy than common zone valves while also delivering greater flow capacity, shutoff pressure rating, ease of installation and diagnostics, and the number of valves (12) that can be used on a standard 40VA transformer.
Ideal for use with a wide variety of heating and cooling applications, Zone Sentry valves were designed primarily for baseboard, fan coil, radiator, convector, heat pump and radiant applications. The valves are available in ½-in., ¾-in., and 1-in. sizes and draw only 1.44 watts, making them a high efficiency addition to residential and light commercial applications.

Filter Curbs Feature All-Welded Construction
Thybar filter curbs are quickly manufactured to precise specifications by Thybar Corporation, Addison, IL, and most are shipped fully assembled. Advanced laser technology offers the tightest tolerances and superior construction at a competitive price. Each filter curb is custom manufactured due to the varying specifications of rooftop units and roof configurations. According to company sources, delivery is usually within two weeks after receipt of the order.
Filter curbs feature all welded construction, factory insulated walls, integral filter rack and access door for servicing filters. Options include a built-in roof pitch, extra height for installation of sound traps beneath the unit, and a pressure treated wood nailer.
Most filter curbs are shipped to the job site in one piece if trucking permits. If curb can’t be shipped as one piece, all corners are welded and the number of pieces shipped is kept to a minimum.

Advantix Systems Introduces DuTreat Narrow Unit
Advantix Systems's energy efficient dehumidification and cooling solutions use liquid desiccant technology to simultaneously cool and remove humidity directly from the air, delivering energy savings of 30 to 50%, sources say.
Previously available for just large commercial and manufacturing applications, Advantix Systems' product line has expanded to include the DuTreat Narrow, a smaller version of its innovative DuCool unit that can fit through tight clearances and be easily installed in a variety of compact spaces, including fitness centers, nursing homes, medical centers and schools.
The DuTreat units operate using electricity alone and require minimal installation. Because the units are narrow enough to roll through doorways, the DuTreat is a new solution for facilities with limited space that have struggled with humidity, mold remediation, and air quality.
Specific features of the DuTreat Narrow system include:
- Units range in weight from 495 lbs. to 525 lbs.
-
Unit dimensions reach a maximum of 62-in. long and 40-in. wide; height is 44-in. tall.
