Immersion Probes Last Under Extreme Conditions

Immersion probes with integrated connectors from Measurement Specialties, Hampton, VA are ideal for applications where they will be exposed to rapid temperature cycling, humidity, vibration and mechanical shock, and more. The assembly consists of a NTC thermistor mounted in a brass screw-in housing. The connector is crimped/cold rolled into the housing, eliminating the use of potting resins. Various thread types are available to suit mounting requirements. Immersion probes are suitable for measuring oil, fuel, coolant, and water and air temperature. Possible applications include engine control management, automotive and off-road data acquisition systems, industrial process control, boiler control, and more. Vibro-Curb Provides 90% Isolation Efficiency

The Vibro-Curb from Thybar Corporation, Addison, IL, has integral, vibration-dampening, spring isolators which are easy to access. The curbs provide mounting for rooftop HVAC units. Roofing may be completed at later date without disturbing the unit, which eliminates extra crane or helicopter expenses. A 2 × 2 wood nailer is provided for attaching roofing felts. Flexible, 9-in. counter-flashing provides a weather seal, but still permits easy access to the isolators. Roofing around spring access ports is not required with the Vibro-Curb, sources report. A minimum 90% isolation efficiency is achieved with the isolators. They're custom sized and spaced to accommodate the rooftop unit's weight and center of gravity for optimum vibration dampening. Deflections of 1- 20 , or 3-in. may be provided. Vertical limit stops eliminate excessive movement caused by wind loads and seismic activity.
