Crescent Cuber Features Cycle Saver® and EverCheck®

Article Tools

The Hoshizaki KM-600 Slim Line Modular Crescent Cuber is a 115-volt unit that produces up to 592 pounds of ice per 24 hours. It measures 22 -in. × 27-3/8 in. × 37 7/16 in.

The KM-600 features a Cycle Saver® design and Ever Check® control board for dependability, longer machine life, and energy savings. The unique curved shape of Hoshizaki Crescent Cube ice allows liquid to flow over it more easily, whether pouring from bottles or dispensers, so there's no messy splashing and less waste.

A similar unit — the KMD-850MRH — is available in air- and water-cooled versions and produces up to 836 pounds of ice in one day. Both the KM-600 and KMD-850MRH are Energy Star approved and feature a HoshiGuard Antimicrobial Agent that inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold and other micro-organisms within the food zone or water circuit. Other featues of the KM-600 include:

  • Stainless steel evaporator

  • Removable air filters

  • R-404A refrigerant

  • Complies with California Energy Commmission (CEC) guidelines

Regulator Eliminates Oxide Deposits in Line Sets When Brazing

Western Enterprises, Westlake, OH, has developed a system that uses nitrogen for purging oxygen in air conditioning and refrigeration line sets, to eliminate oxide deposits during the brazing process. The system is called the HVAC “VN” series. It consists of a state-of-the-art regulator with an integrated cylinder valve and a lightweight aluminum cylinder. The system is compact, and features an ergonomic, built-in carrying handle with a high-impact protective shroud to eliminate exposed gauges that frequently leak or are easily broken.

Ultra Pack Removes Moisture and Acid, Seals System Leaks

Cliplight Mfg., Toronto, has introduced the Ultra Pack, which combines complementary products that remove moisture and acid and seal refrigerant leaks in HVACR systems. Each Ultra Pack includes:

Dry-R chemically changes water to a low viscosity, non-oily, highly soluble and residue-free liquid that flows freely throughout the system without chemically attaching to contaminants commonly-found in air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Dry-R chemically reacts with system H2O, resulting in new molecularly reassembled liquids that are completely soluble with AB, mineral, POE, and PAG oils used in refrigeration systems. Instead of a particulate, gel, or soft polymer formation, the new liquids stabilize the system by lowering the overall H2O ppm and act as an oil conditioner. After the chemical reaction, water can no longer attach chemically to system contaminants and form a damaging sludge.
