Cutter Reaches into Tight Spaces

The 2-in-1 Close Quarters Autofeed^™ cutter from RIDGID^®, St. Louis, MO, combines the RIDGID^® Model 118 Close Quarters Autofeed cutter with a ratchet handle that allows for easier cutting in tight, restricted spaces.

The cutter can be used alone or with the ratchet handle. The handle, a light and ergonomic accessory, can be attached to the cutter and operated in ratchet steps as small as 10 degrees, allowing for fine indexing of the cutter to operate in tight spaces. To use the cutter, the technician tightens the football-shaped knob once. The spring-loaded cutter wheel cuts automatically. The cutter is adjustable from ¼-in. to 1 ⅛-in. outer diameter. The cutter is designed for use on hard and soft copper, aluminum, brass, and plastic tubing. It comes with a spare E-3469 cutter wheel in the knob. Anti-Sweat Door Heater Controller Saves Energy

The CoolTrol^® anti-sweat door heater controller from National Resource Management, Inc., Boston, MA, optimizes energy use, with the potential to save up to $50 to $100 per door annually, according to company sources. The CoolTrol can be configured by the user to control cooler or freezer doors independently or in combination (A). Each controller has seven selectable, automated control settings for each type of equipment being controlled. LED displays indicate when heat is on for a particular channel. Each channel drives up to 10 remote switching modules, to isolate door circuits when lighting or other loads are on the same circuit. If the controller unit loses power, a fail-safe feature directs door heaters to default to “ON.” The front panel display scrolls between four informational screens every nine seconds (B).
