    Danfoss Turbocor Expands Compressor Line
During the 2012 AHR Expo in Chicago, IL, January 23-25, Danfoss Turbocor Compressors Inc. (DTC) announced a significant expansion of its line of oil-free, magnetic bearing variable speed centrifugal compressors. The expansion includes:

    • Launch of the TT400 380-volt compressor, for fast growing markets such as China, India, Russia, and Brazil. The TT400 received an honorable mention in the 2012 AHR Innovation Awards, Cooling Category.
    • A 575-volt version of the TT400 compressor for the Canadian market.
    • A capacity range extension of the larger TT500 compressors, up to 170 amps, in both 460 and 400-volt models.
    • A new compressor performance rating (CPR) selection program with increased prediction accuracy and enhanced user interface capabilities.
    • An economizer rating option has been added to the new CPR selection program. This option provides a predictive analysis tool for customers to evaluate the economizer option on the entire range of Danfoss Turbocor compressors.

Danfoss Turbocor also announced the availability of developmental prototype compressors qualified for use with the ultra-low global warming potential (GWP), zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) refrigerant HFO-1234ze — trade named Solstice L13 by Honeywell. Prototype compressors named TG310 suitable for outdoor, air-cooled applications are now being offered to Danfoss Turbocor OEM customers for shipment in April.

Solstice L13 was developed and commercialized by Honeywell, and is approved for foam-blowing applications under the U.S. EPA Significant New Alternatives Program (SNAP). Honeywell has also applied for approval for Solstice L13 as a refrigerant. — Danfoss
