AirVolution-D by MacroAir is powered by a revolutionary gearless system, featuring the world’s first compact electric motor capable of handling the consistent torque requirements of a 24-foot diameter HVLS fan. At the heart of AirVolution-D is a breakthrough in motor design delivering 50% greater continuous horsepower and 10% more airflow than current HVLS fans on the market. A gearless motor eliminates the need for a massive gearbox, making it 45% lighter and eliminating numerous parts.
The all-new residential heating and air conditioning split systems from the Coleman brand of Johnson Controls, come to the market after more than 124,000 hours of research, design and testing. The result, says Coleman, is a family of air conditioners, heat pumps and air handlers that meet the 2015 U.S. Department of Energy efficiency standards and offer significant energy savings — as much as 29 percent more efficient for air conditioners — with a 14 SEER rating, when compared to the older, 10 SEER models. The family of split system products will include models with a 21+ SEER. All of these units are rated in accordance with AHRI Standards 210/240, and meet relevant ASHRAE 90.1, EPACT 2005 and Energy Star standards.
Daikin indoor unit (FXMQ or FBQ) with Daikin Zoning Kit (DZK) increases the flexibility of the VRV and SkyAir systems in both residential and commercial applications by allowing separate ducts to supply air to individually controlled zones. The flexible and scalable DZK integrates seamlessly with the indoor unit and controls of the VRV or SkyAir system. It is available in different sizes and damper configurations with up to 6 zones per indoor unit. Wired thermostat along with additional wireless thermostats provides programming and temperature control for each zone. The optional BACnet adapter allows for easy integration into a BMS system.
Today’s homeowners are searching out options that will keep them comfortable while helping to lower monthly utility bills and keep them connected with “smart” or communicating systems. Lucky for them, say Goodman sources, that Goodman brand high efficiency air handlers like the AVPTC shown here, are designed to deliver years of efficient, quiet and convenient cooling. The Goodman AVPTC features an All-Aluminum coil and a variable-speed blower motor to deliver more even distribution of the air from room-to-room and room-to-ceiling while delivering lower energy consumption compared to standard efficiency motors. Finally, the AVPTC is ComfortNet Communicating Systems compatible. ComfortNet systems provide a touchscreen interface, continuous monitoring, wireless control options and automated maintenance alerts with the ability to program in a contractor’s name for service reminders.
The new air handling unit (AHU) from Titus — RevolutionTFX — lives up to its name by offering contractors new possibilities, with its many configuration options and up to 30,000 CFM airflow. This unit fills an important gap in the air handler market—not too puny and not too expensive—perfect for many office, government or educational projects. The RevolutionTFX offers many opportunities to save energy. Casings with R13 insulation, efficient fan options and multiple cabinet configurations. RevolutionTFX is designed for use in VAV systems, too.
Sources say it’s built unlike anything else in the HVAC market. Trane’s Hyperion XL variable-speed air handler features a durable, all-aluminum coil for maximum durability to ensure comfort all year long. The double-walled cabinet is uniquely designed to enclose the insulation and exert positive air pressure to keep humidity, loose insulation fibers and other particles from entering the air. Due to the exclusive Trane Vortica blower, the Hyperion XL variable-speed air handler provides homeowners with reliable, ultra-quiet, and energy-efficient operation. When paired with CleanEffects, this air handler can remove up to 99.98% of dust, pollen and other irritants from conditioned air down to .1 microns from the air it filters.
