Honeywell Genetron Refrigerants announces that its two mobile applications for HVAC contractors and refrigeration system engineers are now available on iTunes for the iPhone platform.
The two apps are designed to provide quick and accurate data for decision-making on the go. The Android version will be announced when available.
“Following a successful launch of our PT Chart and R-22 Retrofit iPad apps in February, consistent feedback indicated that extension to other mobile platforms was a must, to make access to this information more convenient for our mobile users,” says Ron Vogl, technical marketing manager, Honeywell Fluorine Products.
Using the R-22 Retrofit app, refrigeration engineers can conduct side-by-side comparisons on properties such as capacity, efficiency, and global warming potential (GWP). The built-in refrigerant calculator determines how much new refrigerant is needed to run the system, and the distributor locator helps users find a Honeywell Genetron wholesaler.
HVAC mechanics and field technicians who have been carrying paper pressure-temperature (P/T) charts in their pockets will also appreciate the ability to scroll through a colorful display to select a refrigerant and get the data they need to perform the task. The touch screen allows them to quickly calculate the superheat and subcool average values needed in order to accurately set a control.
“Honeywell’s innovation extends beyond our research labs to make customers’ and contractors’ jobs easier,” Vogl adds. “The prevalence of smart phones and tablets in the HVAC industry prompted us to consider how we could translate some of our most popular job aids into time- and money-saving tools for our customers.”
The app is available in the iTunes App Store.
