A new Business Operations and Systems Success (BOSS) program that’s similar to a “boot camp” for HVAC and plumbing business owners, managers or the next generation of business owners, was unveiled at the recent Quality Service Contractors’ (QSC) meeting in Baltimore.
The two-day course will be available at different sites throughout the country. The course will provide many tips on how to make a profit, with a concentration on how to decipher and use financial statements as a tool. Business operations — from service and sales management, to hiring and retaining — also will be covered.
The boot camp is a mixture of multi-media, class interaction, video, workshops and lecture. Cost is $395 for QSC members, and $495 for PHCC members.
Nearly 200 people attended the Baltimore meeting, and nine new members joined. Seminar topics focused on implementing a drug program; “Comanche” and mobile marketing; service agreements; and adding air conditioning to an existing plumbing business.
Other new programs announced at the meeting include a revised “Fantastic Forms” notebook and CD version; Web-based client relations training course; membership updates to the QSC Web site; a new membership brochure; and a “Contractor Excellence Form” contractors can use to score themselves.
The next QSC meeting will be March 4-7 in Scottsdale, AZ. For more information, call 800/533-7694 or visit www.qsc-phcc.org.
