The Refrigeration Service Engineers Society announced that Scott McClure, CM, was presented with the 2007 AHR Expo Innovation Award Scholarship during the 2007 AHR Expo in Dallas, TX.
McClure received the endowment for the heating, ventilation and air conditioning educational program he created eight years ago at Vernon College, Wichita Falls, TX.
McClure pioneered the HVAC educational program at Vernon College eight years ago and was the first in Texas to obtain accreditation through the organization Partnership for Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration Accreditation. In addition, his HVAC educational program has been accredited through the Texas Skill Standards Board. Furthermore, through the educational program at Vernon College, HVAC students have applied their knowledge and gained experience installing HVAC systems in homes for Habitat for Humanity.

The funds were deposited in the Stanley and Betty Ray Endowed Scholarship fund that he established with the college three years ago.
“I started the scholarship in memory of the man who passed away three years ago and who got me started in the HVAC business, Stanley Ray,” said McClure.
