The Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing Bureau (TABB) will hold its first annual conference in conjunction with the Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) conference in Las Vegas, October 18-19, 2002. The conference will focus on how to expand markets in the industry by focusing on building commissioning. According to Erik Emblem, director of the National Energy Management Institute (NEMI), “We feel the commissioning market, which is in its infancy, has the potential to expand significantly during the next five years.” One of the highlights of the conference will be a presentation by John Hughes, vice president of FMI Consultant, on building commissioning and its relationship to TABB. The conference will also feature presentations from Fred Turner, editor of the ASHRAE Journal, Bill Freese, president of International Testing and Balancing, and SMACNA President Ron Rodgers.
