The Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA), Rockville, MD, announced that five more contractors have qualified for MSCA STAR status. MSCA STAR is a qualifications program that recognizes contractors who meet or exceed stringent operating and training standards set by MSCA.
To become a STAR contractor, companies must complete a detailed application covering a wide range of criteria, including maintaining a superior safety record, offering outstanding customer service, and focusing on continuing education and training for all employees. In addition, at least 25% of the contractor's technicians must be UA STAR certified to ensure they employ the best trained and qualified workforce.
A total of 74 companies have reached MSCA STAR status since the program was introduced in 2004.
The MSCA STAR program is independently verified by the National Inspection, Testing and Certification Corporation (NITC), an ISO 9001 and ANSI-accredited certifying organization.
The five new MSCA STAR members are:
Barr Engineering, Inc. - Santa Fe Springs, CA
Bassett Mechanical - Kaukauna, WI
Control Services, Inc. - Omaha, NE
Peterson Service Co., Inc. - Medford, NJ
United Air Conditioning Service, Inc. - Baldwin Park, CA
