LG Electronics USA hosted the grand opening of the LG Training Academy in Roswell, GA, to support LG’s growing commercial air conditioner business. The 16,000 sq.ft., facility can support training for hundreds of engineers, contractors and technicians each month, sources report.
The strategic location of the new facility places LG in a position to deliver the best hands-on product training for a region of the country with high demand for commercial air conditioning systems.
The training academy is the centerpiece of the new LG Roswell facility, which also houses the company’s local operations for LG Mobile Phones and LG Digital Appliances. This location now has a total of 30 employees and plans to hire additional staff in 2009.
Michael Ahn, president and CEO, LG Electronics North America, called the new Roswell location “a symbol of LG’s growth and vitality” in North America. “This is another important milestone in LG’s tremendous expansion in the United States. Particularly noteworthy now during the U.S. recession is LG’s investment in the communities where we live and work and our commitment to economic development and education here in the greater Atlanta area,” Ahn says. LG’s new training academy will provide a variety of courses for engineers, contractors, technicians and air conditioning sales managers. Attendees will have the option of participating in shorter half-day courses to more intensive five day training sessions. The new training academy will provide focused training rooms for education on LG’s Multi-V Applied Commercial Systems, Duct-Free Mini Split and Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner (PTAC) systems, and layout and model selection software. The training will provide hands-on experience with LG’s products in diverse situations for full application training. “LG’s first commercial training facility in the U.S. highlights our growth in the region, and our commitment to the U.S. air conditioning industry,” says Steve Schmitt, director, Commercial Air Conditioning, LG Electronics USA Inc. “As our commercial AC business continues to expand, this facility will be crucial to providing our key partners and engineers with the educational tools necessary for successful installations.”
The LG training facility is equipped with plenty of gear for all students.
