Monsen Engineering Company, Fairfield, NJ, a leader in energy management systems and services in the New Jersey area, has created a stand-alone building automation company.
The new company, called Automated Building Technologies (ABT), is an authorized Andover Controls Building Automation partner. Sources at Monsen say the transition will allow Monsen Engineering’s automated energy management systems business to grow as the company continues to serve clients' diverse facilities needs.
Monsen Engineering’s automation division has experienced record growth over the last two years. This was achieved through collaborating with customers, helping reduce their facility’s energy demand, control costs and implement corporate green initiatives. James Dunham will assume the role of vice president of ABT while continuing to act as director of automation for Monsen Engineering Company.
As a testament of this expansion and stability, Monsen Engineering is currently working on the largest wireless automation project in the country for TAC at Asbury Towers, located in southern New Jersey. Monsen is implementing peak demand and load shedding strategies by utilizing an integrated system of Andover Controls and Square D power meters.
“The changes to our existing clients will be minimal. We will keep the automation specialists in place where they have been servicing our long time Andover Controls BMS customers. The only differences will be the uniforms, vans and documentation will now reflect Automated Building Technologies,” says Eric Monsen, president of Monsen Engineering Company. “We're very excited to have the new company in place and look forward to broadening our reach within this market.”
