National Indoor Comfort Week has been endorsed by Congress. The week, April 17-23, was sponsored by the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) to honor the nation's HVAC professionals.
H. Res 130, the resolution recognizing National Indoor Comfort Week, was introduced by Rep. Don Manzullo (R-IL) and Nydia Velzquez (D-NY) and unanimously passed on April 21, 2005.
"On a day like today where the temperature is expected to go above 80 degrees, I am particularly grateful for air conditioning that makes it easier to do our jobs each day," said Rep. Manzullo. “It’s because of air conditioning that many parts of our great nation, particularly in the South and West, have grown into booming areas, creating new jobs and enhancing our economy," he added.
Said Rep. Velzquez: The heating and cooling industry has set the standard for creating innovative, environmentally safe products that help preserve and strengthen our environment for future generations to enjoy. Clearly, given the unique contributions of the small businesses in this industry, it’s only fitting that we find ways to recognize the exceptional work of these service men and women."
