Contractors 2000 has announced the winners of its Frank Blau Jr. Annual Member Financial Survey.
Four winners are sharing the award because the survey is structured to reflect the differences between service companies, contract (or new construction) companies, and companies with a blend of both.
Van Natta Mechanical Corp., Montvale, NJ, and Wilson’s Plumbing & Heating Company Pacific Grove, CA, shared top honors for the contract classification. Brasington Plumbing & Heating Company, Lexington, SC, won for the survey’s service sector, and Williams Plumbing & Heating Company, Greensboro, NC, won for the blended category.
Winners are determined by an analysis of their financial performance in five areas: earnings before income taxes; liquidity; return on assets; debt-to-equity ratio; and the Altman Z Score, which is a method for predicting financial performance.
Contractors 2000’s Annual Financial Survey is offered as a member benefit to its Gold and Silver members. “Members can improve their financial and operational management based on the data in the survey,” says Larry Halverson, vice president and CFO of Contractors 2000. “It shows them how other companies their size manage their finances, and the top financial performers give them a vivid picture of what they should be striving toward.”
