Commercial real estate is a competitive business that requires heightened asset performance, profitability and efficiency at every level of building and portfolio management. Facility owners and managers will learn from Trane how to optimize buildings for effective energy management and sustainability through industry-leading comfort and control solutions at Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) 2014 Every Building Conference & Expo, June 22-24, in Orlando, Fla.
At the conference, Trane will showcase new energy-efficient technologies for commercial properties at booth #1311, highlight a new partnership, and host an educational session that addresses how to identify energy conservation measures from building data and how to measure and communicate the impact.
Trane state-of-the-art solutions and a new partnership announced at the BOMA show:
• Trane Wireless Comm significantly simplifies building projects by minimizing the labor, engineering, estimating and project management tasks associated with communication link and zone sensor wiring, and simplifies problem solving on new buildings, controls upgrades and building expansion projects.
• Trane Stealth air-cooled chiller is the newest and quietest chiller, and myPLV, a tool created to personalize an economic chiller comparison specific to a market and application. Stealth air-cooled chillers deliver an industry-leading combination of part-load and full-load efficiencies and the lowest published sound levels for an air-cooled chiller in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry. The myPLV chiller performance evaluation tool offers a quick and simple option for chiller economic comparisons. The customized myPLV value is calculated based on individual criteria, reflecting specific chiller installation location, building purpose and chiller plant design.
• Advantage VRF, variable refrigerant systems, featuring variable-speed compressor technology, offer customizable solutions for improved temperature control and occupant comfort in an energy-efficient package that reduces operating expenses. These systems include ‘smart inverter’ compressors and feature an upgraded vapor injection system.
• Fellon-McCord, a new Trane partner in global energy management and sourcing solutions has more than 20 years of experience serving commercial, industrial, institutional and government customers. Their energy supply procurement and management services expertise expand Trane capabilities for supply-side energy management.
Educational Session
Mike Dillard, sales manager, existing building solutions, Trane, and Terry Bickham, director of energy services and solutions in the global services group, Trane, will demonstrate how to “hear” what a building has to say and how to translate that data into actionable information through three real-world examples. Dillard has more than 25 years of industry experience in the mechanical contracting, service and energy services industry Prior to joining Trane, he was vice president - business development for EMCOR MSI, a large mechanical contracting and energy services firm.
Terry Bickham currently serves as the director of energy services and solutions in the Global Services Group at Trane/Ingersoll Rand. Over the last three decades, he has driven success with initiation to completion energy projects and leadership of technical/operations programs and team.
The presentation will feature the analysis of three office buildings in very different climate zones. Presenters will identify energy conservation measures recommended or discerned from the analysis and the expectations of the work completed will be used to examine how the methods might be applied to audience members’ situations. They will hone in on the definitions, need and availability of interval metering data, including smart metering, third party sources such as utilities, and internal or organic means of data harvesting.
