St. Louis-based KAI Design & Build announces its new Interior Design Team, with more than 60 years of combined experience from commercial, government and education projects to health care and housing. The team works with clients to establish a trusting, working relationship while encouraging an atmosphere of client input and vision. Communication through each design phase ensures that the overall design meets the client's expectations.
• Senior Interior Designer Terry Crotty of Dardenne Prairie, Mo. Crotty comes to KAI with more than 30 years of industry experience. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, Miss.
Crotty stresses the importance of an interior designer's involvement in projects from the beginning programming phase through to the final punch list at the completion of construction. She believes it is essential to look at all interior spaces three-dimensionally from the outset to achieve a cohesive design that really responds to a client’s vision.
• Senior Interior Designer/Project Manager Ali Summerford, RID, LEED ID+C, NCIDQ, EDAC. of Ballwin, Mo. Summerford comes to KAI with 21 years of industry experience. She has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo. She is a member of the International Interior Design Association and the St. Louis Alpha Omicron Pi Alumnae and St. Louis Panhellenic Alumnae organizations.
Summerford is adept at balancing the creative and business sides of design. Consistently developing a core level of trust with her clients, she is able to transform their desires and constraints into creative, functional solutions while keeping the project on schedule and within budget.
• Interiors Specialist Asha Perez of St. Charles, Mo. A transplant from Miami, Perez earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Maryville University in St. Louis and was hired by KAI in 2014. Perez serves on the board for both the ACE Mentor Program of St. Louis, a program that helps the city's high school students learn more about potential careers in architecture, engineering and construction; and the National Organization of Minority Architects’ St. Louis chapter.
Fueled by a passion for the industry that she calls an art-form, Perez’s comprehensive designs speak to those who occupy the spaces she creates through her unique ability to deliver results based on client-driven solutions.
• Interiors Specialist Jasmine Martin of Plano, Texas. Martin comes to KAI with two years of experience. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Outside of work, Martin is driven by giving back to her local community. She says her passion for design is infectious. She always strives to balance her signature style and design sense with the client's vision for the project.
